Varios dias despues vuelvo a escuchar
radio, muchos locutores, tambien viven
In these days I have started to think and analyze the impact of voice in
the communication. Almost a month ago I was listening to the radio a pizza commercial
which I considered absurd, and had much to do with the inflection of the voice of the Narrator who also changed the intonation somewhat more slowly to emphasize the
commercial. Unfortunately this campaign from Pizza Company lasted almost three
weeks and the commercial could be heard continuously at all times on all radio
stations. Thank God we finally rested
and the absurd campaign ended. At least in my opinion it did not work; it did
not encourage me to go and buy their pizza
or any other brand.
But now comes the curios part of the
story………just a few days ago I am listening to an insurance commercial, or it may
have been a mobile phone ad, and I heard
the voice of the same individual again …
And once again the feeling of disgust, invaded my senses because it was that
voice that made me uncomfortable for three weeks and I could not, or would not listen to the
commercial, it did not catch my
attention or what he said, I simply blocked
my mind and continued driving.
Several days later, once again I was listening to another insurance or
finance commercial on the radio and again began to revive this annoyance, that same tone of voice, it was the signal that
identifies him, it has impacted me so much it disgusts me. I admit, I do not
know the individual, or wish him nothing wrong. But if he makes a living doing
radio commercials, he won’t sell me a thing. His voice to me is already a turn
off. He can delete me from the list of
followers. Anything that he tries to promote I refuse to listen. And that
happened because he lent himself to do that absurd commercial.
In life, especially in the radio, many anchors also do radio commercials to
add something extra to their wages. Radio is not a well paid endeavor. But they
recognize what can cost them if they are
associated to a product, to a political party, or a lawyer who does not work on
the right side of the law… they think and choose which commercials or businesses to do and which not to do. The poor heroes who
make a living on radio ads, who are in the background, of which we will never
know their names, these sometimes have no choice but to comply with what is
required as this is their only livelihood.
I admit that should have reflected my annoyance to the advertising company
that made the absurd commercial, but returning to the starting point, it was
the voice that has caused this chain reaction that today I cannot stand hearing the individual in a commercial anywhere.
So if there is something to be learned from all this, it is in daily life
we say things, to family, friends and strangers…
and we are judged each time by the tone
of our voice which may disturb someone
or have a perdurable impact …
