Seized control of the agriculture office near the infantry academy in the Aleppo suburb of Mosalmiya. Stormed of a military checkpoint on Aleppo-Damascus road in the western suburb of Aleppo. Stormed of a military checkpoint in the Homs suburb of Thiyabiya. Seized control of the Conscription Office in the Raqa suburb of Sabkha. Summary of Events The country has seen one of its bloodiest days in the 20-month uprising as the violent fighting and shelling claimed the lives of more than 234 people, 189 of whom died in the opposition areas including 28 children and 11 women while the violent clashes left at least 41 rebel fighters and 45 regime soldiers and militiamen dead. Regime forces killed 73 people in Damascus and it suburbs, 15 of whom were killed “execution style” in the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk and the provincial towns of Drousha and Saqba. Dozens were also killed as regime forces continued their aerial and rocket bombardment on the Damascus suburbs of Douma, Daraya, Thiyabiya, Zamalka, Deir Asasfir in addition to many other towns in the East Ghouta district. They killed 42 people in Aleppo, including 26 civilians that died due to the indiscriminate shelling in the neighbourhoods of Hollok, Kastal Harami, Ansari and the provincial town of Hraytan, while 16 rebel fighters were killed as they continued their attacks on the air intelligence compound and the infantry academy in the suburbs of Aleppo. Regime forces killed 26 people in Homs, 15 of whom died in a car bomb explosion in the densely populated neighbourhood of Malaab which is home for thousands of refugees who fled from other areas in Homs. Meanwhile, dozens of people were killed and injured in the Homs suburbs of Houleh as regime helicopter gunships dropped barrel bombs on its residential areas. Some 11 people died due to the indiscriminate shelling in the Idlib suburbs of Farika, Ma’arrat Noman, Ma’ardebseh while eight others, including a woman and four children, were killed in an airstrike on the Raqa suburb of Howayjat Shanan. Regime forces shelled as many as 228 different areas today. They fired mortar shells on more than 60 areas while their heavy artillery pounded more than 112 others. Some 56 areas came under rocket shelling as fighter jets bombarded more than 17 areas of which three are said to have been shelled by cluster bombs. Helicopter gunships dropped barrel bombs on six areas thus causing extensive damage to residential buildings and leaving scores of people dead and injured. The Syrian Expatriate Medical Association (SEMA) said that the 20-month conflict left more than 137,000 people injured so far. Fighting continued near Damascus airport and along its 20km road for the fourth consecutive day. The rebels bombed an armoured vehicle and two buses as they attacked a military checkpoint stationed at the fifth bridge (9km west of the airport). They also destroyed two military tanks as they repelled the regime’s ground assault on the town of Aqraba (19 km west of the airport). The rebels shot down a helicopter gunship near the Mazeh airbase in Damascus as well as a fighter jet near Damascus airport. They also launched attacks on the Nerab airbase in the suburb of Aleppo (north) and the Deir Azzour airbase (east). Summary of Events Violence escalated in the capital as the fight for the country’s main airport continues for the second day in a raw. Almost all towns and villages under the control of the rebels were bombarded by the regime’s heavy artillery, mortar shells, rocket launchers and fighter jets, leaving as many as 83 people dead, including 26 that died in the town of Bait Sahem, ten in Daraya, eight in Douma, six in Bibila, five in Deir Asafir and many others in the towns of Moadamiya, Thiyabiya, Medeira and Abada. All flights in and out of Damascus airport were cancelled as the rebels attacked a military checkpoint in the nearby town of Aqraba and repelled the regime’s ground assault on the nearby towns of Bait Sahem, Haran Awamid and Bibila, destroying three military tanks and killing many soldiers and militiamen. The rebels also repelled the regime’s attempt to infiltrate the Damascus suburbs of Daraya and Zamalka. They attacked a number of military sites in the towns of Rankous, Harasta and Qatana in addition to shooting down another fighter jet and detaining its pilot in the town of Dumair. The country remained offline for the second consecutive day as people couldn’t connect to the internet while facing partial outage of the cellphone and telephone services in several parts of the country. At least 22 people, including six children were killed in Aleppo due to the indiscriminate shelling in the neighbourhoods of Kalaseh, Hollok, Sakhour and Haydariya. Regime forces continued their major onslaught on the Daraa suburb of Tafas killing more than 17 people including two children and two women in addition to burning down more than 300 houses before they heading on to Damascus. Regime airstrike killed six people in the village of al-Roz in the Deir Azzour suburb of Baseira, while ten more people died due to the indiscriminate shelling in the Idlib suburbs of Shalakh, Ma’arshamsheh, Barra and Mahambel. Some five people were killed in Homs, three of whom died due to the fierce shelling in the provincial town of Rastan while two men were executed in the town Tal Kalakh. Regime forces shelled as many as 188 different areas today. They fired mortar shells on more than 71 areas while their heavy artillery pounded more than 66 others. Some 35 areas came under rocket shelling as fighter jets bombarded more than ten areas of which six are said to have been shelled by cluster bombs thus causing extensive damage to residential buildings and leaving scores of people dead and injured. Today’s death toll reached 149, including 19 children and nine women as well as 22 rebel fighters. At least 65 people were also injured. Egypt urged its citizens in Syria to get in touch with its embassy in Damascus in order to arrange for their departure if they desired so. Ambassador Ali Ushairi, said in a televised interview that his government is taking the necessary measures to ensure safe return of its citizens back to Egypt. The Syrian pound is losing further ground against the US dollar in both the black and formal markets. Today, the dollar was traded at an average of 90 pounds by informal currency dealers. Moreover, the price of the scarce cooking gas hit a new height at 1325 SYP per cylinder with the diesel still scarce in some parts of the country. Regime forces killed 20 Lebanese gunmen and two Syrians as they entered the Syrian town of Tal Kalakh, near the Lebanese border. The men hail from the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli which recently saw clashes between pro and anti-Assad Lebanese factions. والاشتباكات العنيفة التي دارت في اليوم الثاني من معركة مطار دمشق الدولي، فقد صعدت قوات النظام من قصفها مستخدمةً الطيران الحربي وراجمات الصواريخ ومدافع الهاون وقتلت ما يقارب ال83 مواطناً بينهم 26 في بلدة بيت سحم في قصف استهدف مركز البلدة، وعشرة شهداء في داريا وثمانية في دوما وستة في ببيلا وخمسة في دير العصافير وآخرون في بلدات معضمية الشام والذيابية ومديرا والعبادة وما يزال مطار دمشق الدولي معطلاً لليوم الثاني على التوالي وسط استمرار للاشتباكات في بعض البلدات الواقعة على طريقه حيث هاجم الجيش الحر حاجز عقربا المتمركز على طريق المطار وتصدى لمحاولات جيش النظام اقتحام بلدات عقربا وبيت سحم وحران العواميد وببيلا وقام بتدمير ثلاث دبابات بين بلدتي حران العواميد والعتيبة اللتان تبعدان كيلومترات قليلة عن المطار كذلك تصدى الجيش الحر لمحاولات اقتحام مدن داريا وزملكا وهاجم عدداً من مواقع جيش النظام في مدن وبلدات رنكوس وحرستا وقطنا وأوقع العديد من القتلى والجرحى في صفوفه، كما أسقط طائرة ميغ حربية فوق مدينة الضمير وأسر طائرها ولا تزال شبكة الانترنت مقطوعة تماماً منذ يوم أمس وكذلك الاتصالات الجوالة والأرضية التي تشهد انقطاعاً في مناطق واسعة من البلاد وفي حلب، سقط ما لا يقل عن 22 شهيداً بينهم ستة أطفال معظمهم قضوا نتيجة القصف العشوائي على أحياء الكلاسة والهلك والصاخور والحيدرية، وفي درعا ارتكبت قوات النظام مجزرة في مدينة طفس راح ضحيتها 17 شهيداً بينهم طفلين وامرأتين إضافة إلى إصابة العشرات بجروح خطيرة بعد أن قصفا المدينة براجمات الصواريخ والمدفعية الثقيلة ومن ثم قامت بحرق وهدم أكثر من 300 منزل قبل انسحابها من المدينة وتوجهها إلى دمشق وسقط ستة شهداء في غارة جوية شنتها طائرة حربية على قرية الرز التابعة لمدينة البصيرة في محافظة دير الزور، كما سقط عشرة شهداء في ريف محافظة إدلب معظمهم قضوا نتيجة القصف العشوائي على بلدات شلخ ومعرشمشة والبارة ومحمبل، وخمسة في حمص ثلاثة سقطوا جراء القصف العشوائي على مدينة الرستن واثنين تم إعدامهم ميدانياً في مدينة تلكلخ قصفت قوات النظام اليوم أكثر من 188 منطقة في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، فقد تعرضت أكثر من 71 منقطة لقصف بمدافع الهاون و66 منطقة قصفت بالمدفعية الثقيلة، و35 منطقة قصفت براجمات الصواريخ، بينما قصفت الطائرات الحربية ست مناطق بالقنابل العنقودية في ريف دمشق وإدلب ودير الزور مما أدى إلى سقوط عشرات الشهداء والجرحى فضلاً عن تهدم عشرات المباني السكنية ووصلت حصيلة شهداء اليوم إلى أكثر من 149 شهيداً بينهم 19 طفلاً وتسع نساء و22 مقاتلاً من الكتائب الثائرة في حين سقط ما يزيد عن 65 جريحاً ناشدت سفارة مصر لدى سورية، اليوم، المصريين المقيمين هناك الراغبين بمغادرة البلاد الاتصال بالسفارة لترتيب إجراءات مغادرتهم وإعادتهم إلى مصر، وقال السفير علي العشيري، مساعد وزير الخارجية للشؤون القنصلية والمصريين في الخارج، في تصريحات صحفية، إن «هذا الإجراء يأتي حرصًا من السفارة على سلامة المصريين المقيمين في سورية، وتأمين عودتهم سالمين إلى أرض الوطن». تواصلت قيمة الليرة السورية بالهبوط أمام الدولار الأميركي حيث وصل سعر صرف الدولار الواحد إلى 90 ليرة سورية في السوق السوداء، وكما وصل سعر عبوة غاز الطبخ إلى ما يزيد عن 1325 ليرة سورية بالإضافة إلى نقص حاد في مادة المازوت في معظم مناطق البلاد قتلت قوات النظام 20 مقاتلاً لبنانياً من مدينة طرابلس وسوريين اثنين في كمين نصبته لهم في منطقة تلكلخ بمحافظة حمص المحاذية للحدود اللبنانية عند دخولهم الأراضي
