Grenada 30 years later. 1983-2013 Part II

Where submarines enter the Caribbean. The airstrip was about the only thing that almost got completed out of all the projects. The excessive amount of fuel tanks also added; exceeded any commercial need for commercial aviation demands this was also built in the first phase.

The additional warehousing & storage is small caliber weapons, Exceeded Grenadas Armed Forces needs.

AAA artillery ZSU 23-2, armored personnel carriers all for further export to any proxy in the many insurgent movements active in central and South America during that time

This small conflict later led to the creation of the Special Operations command in 1987 as consequence of the lessons learned in command and control during the invasion. The equipment captured later was found to be used by the Contra's, the Mujahdin in Afghanistan, and some which we now have as part of the OPFOR (Opposing Forces) around all Army units.

So 30 years later, we remember what happened, what it made us change, and the impact of this small island. A salute to my brother in arms LTC Angelo Sanchez a veteran of Grenada. Never Say Impossible just Go, Go, Go
