Syrians demonstrate and denounce inaction of Muslim World   Big demonstration in the Idlib suburb of Sarmada today   Today's Top Stories Mass demonstrations broke out across the country denouncing inaction by the Muslim World towards Assad’s crimes against the Muslims in Syria. Regime forces carried out systematic sweeps, looting, arson and summary executions in the southern neighbourhoods of Damascus. Destroyed tow BMB armored vehicles in the village of Nerab in the suburb of Idlib. Destroyed a military tank in the neighbourhood of Arqoub in Aleppo. Summary of Events Mass demonstrations broke out across the country condemning the stalemate and inaction of the Muslim World towards Assad’s crimes against pro-democracy protesters in Syria. Activists said that regime forces carried out a systematic sweeps, looting and arson in the southern neighbourhoods of Damascus destroying at least 200 houses and summarily executing eight civilians in the neighbourhood of Hajar Aswad. Activists added that the regime forces murdered at least 18 civilians in the Damascus suburb of Bowayda while dozens more were killed due to the indiscriminate and fierce shelling that targeted the Damascus suburbs of Thiyabiya, Moadamiya and Mesraba. Regime forces also shelled the suburbs of Artouz, Sayeda Zeinab, Mleha, Saqba, Yabroud, Zabadani and Harasta. At least 90 soldiers along with a military tank defected to the rebels’ side in the city of Aleppo, whereby, fierce fighting continued in the vicinity of Hanano barracks and in the provincial town al-Bab. Meanwhile, scores of civilians were killed and more were injured as regime forces intensified their shelling by heavy artillery and fighter jets in the neighbourhoods of Shaar, Jeser Nerab, Bab Qansarin, Ferdous, Bab Naser, Haydariya, Sukari, Meyasar, Sheikh Khodor as well as in the provincial towns of Indan, Jina, Qabtan Jabal, Atareb and Safeera. Regime forces also continued their massive military offensive throughout the country, killing dozens of civilians, wounding hundreds others and forcing thousands of them to flee their homes. They fiercely shelled the Hama suburbs of Soha and Okerbat as well as the Daraa suburbs of Naseib, Tal Shihab, Mzereib, Dael and Bosra. They also shelled the city of Deir Azzour and its provincial towns of Sour and Boukamal, in addition to the Raqa suburbs of Solouq and Tal Abyad. They shelled the Idlib suburbs of Taftanaz, Ma’arrat Noman, Ihsem, Rami and Ma’arrat Naasan as well as the Latakia suburb of Salma. Regime forces killed at least 16 civilians in Homs as they resumed shelling the old city of Homs and the neighbourhood of Waer as well as the provincial towns of Ghanto, Bowayda Sharqiya, Talbiseh and Rastan. Regime forces also carried out sweeps, arson and arbitrary arrests in the Hama suburbs of Thayl Ejel and Sheir, also in the Daraa suburbs of Namer and Nahta as well as in the Banyas suburb of Bayda.
