Stormed the 46th regiment and the police academy in the western suburb of Aleppo. Summary of Events Rebel fighters gained new grounds in the north and the east of the country. They took control of the provincial town of Boukamal in the eastern province of Deir Azzour along the border with Iraq after storming the Hamdan airbase, the last bastion of Assad’s forces in the town. The rebels also raided the 46th regiment in the western Aleppo suburbs, taking a big part of it in addition to taking control of the police academy after heavy fighting that lasted for several weeks. Meanwhile, rebel fighters clashed with regime forces in more than 82 areas across the country, inflicting heavy losses on them and killing as many as 40 soldiers and militiamen. Regime forces continued their attacks on opposition areas throughout the country, shelling as many as 153 different areas mainly in Damascus, Homs, Aleppo and Idlib. Warplanes carried out more than 13 airstrikes killing dozens of civilians and destroying dozens of homes. Activists claimed once again that regime forces deployed chemical weapons in the Damascus suburb of Harasta. Assad’s forces killed at least 118 people including 15 children and 9 women as well as 37 rebel fighters. In Damascus, more than 56 people were killed including 14, mainly women and children, died due to the indiscriminate shelling in the provincial town of Hasaka while ten more were killed when a mortar shell hit a residential building in the Jaramana district. Some five more were killed in similar attack on the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk while five handcuffed bodies carrying torture marks were discovered in southern district of Sayeda Zeinab. At least 25 people died in Aleppo including five children and two women, 15 of which were killed when a regime shell hit a bus in the neighborhood of Haydariya. Regime forces killed 20 people in Deir Azzour including 18 rebel fighters that died during clashes in the provincial town of Boukamal.
