Stormed and bombed two police stations near the border with Jordan. Ambushed a military convoy in the Latakia suburb of Qastal Maaf. Bombed a military checkpoint in the Daraa suburb of Maliha Sharqiya. Destroyed ten military tanks and a number of armoured vehicles during clashes throughout the country. Summary of Events Regime forces committed more massacres in the suburbs of Damascus as they continued their weeks-long onslaught on the provincial towns of Daraya and Moadamiya. They executed four displaced civilians in the town of Drousha and shot 16 others dead in Daraya. They also killed 14 people in the town of Moadamiya of whom seven were killed “execution style”. Dozens of people were also killed as regime warplanes, heavy artillery, rocket launchers and tanks continued pounding the provincial towns of Douma, Erbin, Zamalka, Yabroud, Hejeira, Sbeneh and al-Husainiya refugee camp thus bringing the total death toll in Damascus and its suburbs to 73 people. Regime forces also killed 35 people in Aleppo and its suburbs, 16 of whom were burnt after been executed near the air intelligence compound in Aleppo city. They also killed nine people in Hama and eight more in Daraa, two of whom are said to have died under torture. Some seven people died in Homs including six civilians that died in the provincial town of Rastan which came under heavy artillery, rocket and tanks shelling. Meanwhile, seven rebel fighters were killed during clashes in the Idlib suburbs of Ma’arrat Noman and Harem. Some four rebel fighters were also killed in the southern province of Qunaitera while two others died in Deir Azzour and one more in Raqa. Regime forces continued their attacks on opposition areas across the country, shelling as many as 248 different areas mainly in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Idlib. They fired mortar shells on more than 75 areas while their heavy artillery pounded more than 140 others. Some 33 areas came under rocket shelling and three more were bombarded by barrel bombs. Fighter jets bombarded more than 14 areas of which two were shelled by cluster bombs thus causing extensive damage to residential buildings and leaving scores of people dead and injured. The headquarters of the rebel FSA Joint Command was shelled by regime warplanes in the Idlib suburb of Atama near the border with Turkey, whereby they also bombarded a refugee camp in the neighbouring town of Qah, forcing hundreds of them to cross the border. No casualties were reported however, activists said that regime warplanes breached the Turkish airspace three times today without any response from the Turkish side. Today’s death toll reached 146, including nine children and seven women as well as 45 rebel fighters. At least 50 people were also injured. Heavy fighting also continued throughout the country with the rebels storming the intelligence branch in the Qunaitera suburb of Brayqa. They also attacked a number of military checkpoints in the provincial towns of Jubata Khashab and Hurriya. In Daraa, the rebels bombed a checkpoint in the provincial town of Maliha Sharqiya and fired a barrage of mortar shells on the Panorama stadium in Daraa city, the biggest gathering of regime soldiers and militiamen in the city. Russia sent more than 240 tons of cash to Syria last summer, a press report said.
