The regime is transferring the country’s biggest stockpiles of grain from the province of Hasaka to the pro-regime cities of Tartus and Latakia. Regime forces kill at least 67 people in Damascus and its suburbs including 10 that were executed in the town of Zabadani. Summary of Events A car bomb exploded near a police station in the Christian district of Bab Touma in Damascus killing at least ten people and leaving dozens more wounded as the U.N. peace envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brhaimi pushed his call for a cease-fire in talks with Bashar Assad. Brahimi refused to comment on the results of his talks. Meanwhile, clashes broke out between rebel fighters and regime forces in the neighbourhoods of Qabun, Jobar, Qadam and Asaly in Damascus amid heavy artillery shelling that caused extensive damage to residential buildings and left many people wounded. Activists said that the regime is transferring the country’s biggest stockpiles of grain from the province of Hasaka to the pro-regime cities of Tartus and Latakia. Armed militias intercepted a convoy of 11 trucks guarded by security forces as they left the town of Raas al-Ain and forced them to return back. Regime forces resumed their attacks on several towns in the suburbs of Damascus leaving at least 61 people dead including six children and four women. Of which 17 people died in the town of Harasta and ten others were killed in Sbeneh as a result of the fierce shelling using barrel bombs, heavy artillery and military tanks. Dozens more people died and more were injured due to the indiscriminate shelling in the towns of Erbin, Zamalka, Madaya, Saqba, Kaferbatna, Hamouriya and Yalda. Regime forces also executed ten people in the town of Zabdani. At least 24 died in Aleppo including eight that fell due to the heavy artillery and mortar shelling in the neighbourhood of Masaken Hanano. Regime snipers shot at least seven people dead in the neighbourhood of Souq al-Hal, Bustan Qaser, Saladin and Tariq al-Bab. Regime forces bombarded more than 20 different residential areas in Aleppo and its suburbs, leaving scores of people wounded and causing extensive damage to residential buildings. Regime warplanes continued bombarding the suburbs of Idlib, mainly relying on the use of cluster bombs that left at least 18 people dead including five family members in the village of Barrah while many others died in towns of Ma’arrat Noman, Safohen and the Jabal Zawiya district. In Homs, the joint Assad-Hezbollah forces continued amassing troops and tanks in the southern suburbs of Homs in preparation for a major attack on the town of Qusayr and its surrounding villages. In the meantime, they bombarded more than 25 different residential areas leaving at least seven people dead including a woman and three children.
