In a clear indicator of the collapse of the truce, fierce fighting erupted in Aleppo, Idlib, Homs, Daraa and Damascus Suburbs, leaving at least 21 army solider and 20 rebel fighters dead. Regime forces shelled more than 181 different areas across the country. Some 63 areas were shelled in Damascus, 40 in Aleppo, 30 in Idlib, 22 in Homs, 11 in Daraa, eight in Deir Azzour in addition to many others in Hama and Latakia. Regime forces killed more than 91 people and left more than 60 others wounded. Some 40 people were killed due to aerial shelling and sniping in the Damascus suburbs of Douma, Erbin, Harasta and East Ghouta district. At least 15 people were also killed due to the indiscriminate shelling in the Idlib suburbs of Kafferrouma, Kafarsanjeh, Jbala and Ma’arshamsheh and 11 more were killed in Aleppo, most of them killed in clashes with the pro-regime Kurdish PYD militia in the neighbourhood of Ashrafiya. More than seven people were killed by sniper fire in Daraa while six others died due to the indiscriminate shelling in Deir Azzour city. Regime snipers also killed two women and a child in Hama city and two more people in Homs and Hasaka.
