Summary of Events Regime forces committed some of the most shocking atrocities in the 21-month uprising, killing more than 208 people, including 12 children, nine women and 17 rebel fighters. In Hama, at least 94 people have been reported dead so far and dozens more were injured in an airstrike on a bakery in the rebels-held town of Helfaya that lies 25km northwest of Hama city. Casualties include women and children and the death toll is likely to increase. Another massacre was committed by the regime when a helicopter gunship dropped barrel bombs on the Aleppo suburb of Safeera, killing at least 13 people and wounding many others. Meanwhile, a car bomb blast that targeted a checkpoint manned by rebel fighters left more than five people dead and many more wounded in the neighbourhood of Bustan Qaser in Aleppo city. Regime fighter jet launched a cluster bomb attack on the Damascus suburb of Nashabiya, killing at least eight civilians and injuring dozens others. Homs Revolutionary Council reported a poison gas attack on the besieged neighbourhoods of Homs city, mainly on al-Khaldiya neighbourhood. They said that three men died and dozens others suffered blindness, nausea, fainting and chocking following the attack. Experts couldn’t identify the type of gas used. Defected astronaut and Major General Mohammad Fares accused Iran and Russia of continuing to ship arms to the Assad regime via their civil airplanes appealing to the rebels to shoot down any such airplanes approach Syria. The rebels made new gains across the country as they launched a major offensive against regime forces in the neighbourhood of Tishrin in north western Damascus, seizing a military checkpoint near al-Sahaba mosque and killing a number of soldiers. They killed and detained many army soldiers in addition to destroying a number of military tanks and armoured vehicles as they continued to thwart the regime’s attempt to retake the Damascus suburbs of Daraya, Irbin, Aqraba and Drousha. The rebels said they took full control of the Aleppo suburb of Menneg located 35km northwest from Aleppo city and just few kilometres from the Menneg military airbase. The rebels also seized control of Tal Anjar army base southwest of Menneg airbase which also came under siege as part of the rebels attempt to seize full control of Aleppo suburbs after taking more than 80% of it so far. The rebels attacked a number of military posts in Daraa, Deir Azzour, Homs, Qunaitera and Hasaka. Regime forces escalated their attacks on the rebels-held towns and villages across the country. They shelled as many as 316 different areas across the country using all sort of heavy weaponry including cluster and phosphorous bombs as well as barrel bombs. Some 118 areas were shelled by mortar shells and 115 others were pounded by heavy artillery. More than 52 areas came under rocket shelling as fighter jets and helicopter stroke more than 25 others, causing extensive damage and leaving dozens of people dead and wounded in addition to driving hundreds of civilians out of their homes. The international peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi arrived in Damascus to deliver a US-Russian sponsored settlement regarding the departure of Assad from power by 2014. Brahimi had to drive from neighbouring Beirut as fighting forced Damascus International Airport to close down. In a news conference today, Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that Damascus is not aware of Brahimi’s visit. He also repeated that the Syrian opposition and its allies must forget about trying to topple Assad as his forces insist on fighting what he described as “terrorist groups”. سقوط أكثر من 200 شهيد، بشاعة منذ بداية الثورة السورية قبل نحو 21 شهراً لتصل حصيلة شهداء اليوم إلى أكثر من 208، بينهم 12 طفلاً وتسع سيدات و17 مقاتلاً من كتائب الثوار ففي ريف حماة، أغارت طائرة حربية على مخبزاً أثناء تجمع الأهالي أمامه للحصول على الخبز في بلدة حلفايا التي تبعد 25 كم عن مدينة حماة مما أسفر عن سقوط أكثر من 94 شهيداً وعشرات الجرحى بينهم نساء وأطفال، وتأتي هذه الغارة الجوية انتقاماً من أهالي البلدة التي سيطرة عليها الجيش الحر قبل بضعة أيام وفي حلب، ارتكبت قوات النظام مجزرة في مدينة السفيرة عندما قامت بقصفها بالبراميل المتفجرة مما أسفر عن سقوط 13 شهيداً وعشرات الجرحى، كما سقط خمسة شهداء وعشرات الجرحى في تفجير سيارة مفخخة في حي بستان القصر استهدف حاجزاً للجيش الحر وكذلك في بلدة النشابية التابعة لمدينة دوما في ريف دمشق، قصفت طائرة حربية مجمعاً سكنياً بالقذائف العنقودية موقعاً ثمانية شهداء وعشرات الجرحى وفي حمص، أفاد المجلس الثوري في حمص أن ثلاثة شبان على الأقل لقوا حتفهم وأصيب عشرات آخرون بحالات نادرة كفقدان النظر والغثيان وفقدان الوعي وضيف تنفس شديد عندما قامت قوات النظام بإلقاء غاز سام على حي الخالدية المحاصر في مدينة حمص، ولم يتسنى حتى الآن التعرف على نوع الغاز المستخدم في هذ الهجوم ‫ناشد رائد الفضاء واللواء الطيار المنشق محمد فارس الجيش الحر باستهداف الطائرات المدنية الإيرانية والروسية والتي تحط في مطارات سورية وذلك لقناعته بأن تلك طائرات ما زالت تنقل "معدات القتل" لنظام الأسد ولم تعد بأي حال طائرات مدنية حقق الجيش الحر المزيد من الانتصارات في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، حيث سيطر على حاجز مسجد الصحابة في حي تشرين في العاصمة دمشق وقتل وأسر من فيه من جنود بالتزامن مع اشتباكات عنيفة مع بقية حواجز قوات النظام في الحي، وواصل الجيش الحر صده لمحاولات جيش النظام اقتحام مدن وبلدات داريا وعربين وعقربا ودروشا ودمر عدداً من الآليات العسكرية وقتل وأسر العديد من قوات النظام أما في حلب، أعلن الجيش الحر سيطرته على بلدة منغ التي تقع على بعد 35 كم شمال مدينة حلب وكيلومترات قليلة عن مطار منغ العسكري بعد اشتباكات عنيفة أجبرت قوات النظام على الانسحاب باتجاه المطار، كذلك سيطر الثوار على كتيبة تل عنجار التي تقع في الطرف الجنوبي الغربي لمطار منغ العسكري ليصبح بذلك أكثر من 80% من ريف حلب تحت سيطرة الثوار وهاجم الثوار عدداً من المواقع العسكرية في درعا ودير الزور وحمص والقنيطرة وفي أحياء الصالحية وغويران في مدينة الحسكة صعدت قوات النظام من هجماتها على المدن والبلدات الثائر، حيث قصفت ما لا يقل عن 316 منطقة في مختلف أنحاء البلاد مستخدمةً القنابل العنقودية بالإضافة إلى البراميل المتفجرة، فقد شهدت حوالي 118 منطقة قصفاً بمدافع الهاون و52 منطقة قصفت براجمات الصواريخ و115 منطقة بالمدفعية الثقيلة، كما شن الطيران الحربي والمروحي غارات جوية على أكثر من 25 منطقة أسفرت عن وقوع عشرات الشهداء والجرحى وإحداث دمار كبير في المنازل وإجبار المئات من المدنيين على النزوح عن ديارهم سياسياً، وصل المبعوث الدولي الأخضر الإبراهيمي إلى دمشق براً عبر بيروت والتقى بنائب وزير الخارجية فيصل المقداد حاملاً معه خطة نصت تسريباتها على بقاء الأسد في السلطة حتى 2014 وتشكيل حكومة انتقالية من الحكومة الحالية والمعارضة برعاية روسية أميركية، وقد صرح وزير الإعلام السوري عمران الزعبي في مؤتمر صحفي له أن دمشق لم يكن لها علم بقدوم الإبراهيمي الى سورية مضيفاً أن الحديث عن تنحي
