Summary of EventsSyria’s second-largest city of Aleppo suffers a severe bread shortage with people waiting for more than six hours in queue to buy a seven-piece sack of bread that sells for 125SYP (US$2.00). Moreover, the long electricity power outage and the skyrocketing fuel prices are making it even harder for bakeries to attend to the increasing demand. Diesel is sold for 200 SYP (US$2.6) per litre while the gasoline sells for US$2.0. People have even resorted to primitive ways to cook their food with the price of a single gas cylinder hits as high as US$45.00.
The rebels made further gains by taking over new military bases and territories throughout the country. They stormed the department of military vehicles in the Damascus suburb of Erbin after a long and fierce battle where the rebels used captured military tanks and other heavy weaponry. They also took over another military base near Damascus airport where a rebel commander Ali Noami said that their fighting units targeted the airport’s radar system and surrounding buildings.
The rebels also edged closer toward taking over the Deir Azzour airport in the east as well as the infantry academy and the Mennege airbase in the north as they continued to push the regime’s defence lines backwards.
In Daraa, Lieutenant colonel Yaser Aboud, commander-in-chief of the FSA southern division said that 70% of Daraa is now under their control after taking over the entire eastern border with Jordan. Further to the south in Qunaitera near the occupied Golan Heights, the rebels stormed the air intelligence compound as well as a police station in the town of Khan Arnabeh.
The rebels also attacked a number of military checkpoints in the suburb of Latakia, Homs, Hasaka, Raqa, Idlib and Hama, leaving many army soldiers dead and wounded.
Haytham al-Maleh, a prominent Syrian dissident said that the newly-formed opposition coalition will announce the formation of a transitional government during the upcoming “Friends of Syria” conference in Morocco. The new transitional government will be based in the rebel-controlled north of Syria, he added.
A number of people were killed and dozens more were injured in three car bomb explosions that rocked Damascus and its suburbs today. The blasts took place in the Zahera district near the Syrian Crescent compound and in the mainly Alawaite district of Mazeh 86 as well as in the provincial town of Moadamia.
Regime forces continued their military offensive on the opposition-held areas throughout the country. They shelled as many as 248 different areas, 69 of which were shelled by mortar shells while 47 others were pounded by heavy artillery. Some 132 areas came under heavy artillery shelling and 44 others were bombarded by rocket launchers. Fighter jets bombarded ten areas, two of which were shelled by cluster bombs as helicopter gunships dropped barrel bombs on seven other areas and dropped white phosphorous bombs on the Deir Azzour suburbs of Mohasan and Mo’Omar thus causing extensive damage to residential buildings and leaving scores of people dead and injured.
Today’s death toll reached 83, including seven women, five children and 43 rebel fighters.
At least 42 people were killed in Damascus and its suburbs, 21 of whom were killed during heavy fighting that erupted in the suburbs of Erbin, Saqba, Douma, Harasta, Medeira, Bait Sahem and Aqraba while five unidentified charred bodies were discovered in the neighbourhood of Qadam. Regime forces also killed 21 people in Aleppo, five of whom were shot by sniper fire.

تعاني حلب من حالات ازدحام خانقة على أفران الخبز حيث بات الناس يقفون في طوابير طويلة لساعات طويلة جداً تزيد عن ست ساعات مع استمرار انقطاع الكهرباء والاتصالات بشكل تام في أغلب أحياء حلب الشيء الذي يزيد من الوضع سوءً وتعقيداً، كما ارتفعت أسعار المحروقات فقد وصل سعر ليتر المازوت إلى 200 ليرة وسعر ليتر البنزين إلى 150 ليرة وبلغ سعر أسطوانة الغاز أكثر من 3600 ليرة حيث بات الناس يستخدمون الفوانيس القديمة لإنارة المنازل واستخدام المواقد التي تعمل على الكاز في الطبخ
حقق الجيش الحر انتصارات جديدة في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، ففي ريف دمشق تم اقتحام إدارة المركبات العسكرية الواقعة في مثلث حرستا - عربين – مديرا من عدة محاور مستخدماً دبابات وأسلحة ثقيلة كان قد غنمها في معارك سابقة وقد سقط خلال هذه العديد من القتلى في صفوف جيش النظام وستة شهداء في صفوف الجيش الحر، كما قام باقتحام كتيبة الإنشاءات الواقعة على طريق مطار دمشق الدولي
وصرح قائد لواء درع الغوطة النقيب علي النعيمي أن الجيش الحر قصف رادارات وأبنية داخل مطار دمشق الدولي وأنه بات يقطع طريق المطار بأكمله ويحاصره من ثلاث جهات، كما بات الثوار قريبين جداً من السيطرة على مطار دير الزور العسكري في شرق البلاد وعلى كتيبة المشاة في منطقة المسلمية ومطار منغ العسكري في ريف حلب حيث واصلوا قصفهم لها بقذائف الهاون والصواريخ
أما في درعا فقد ذكر المقدم ياسر العبود قائد القطاع الجنوبي للجيش الحر أن الجيش الحر بات يسيطر على 70% من محافظة درعا وذلك بعد سيطرتهم على المنطقة الشرقية للحدود البرية مع الأردن، وكذلك في محافظة القنيطرة المحاذية لهضبة الجولان المحتلة سيطر الثوار على مبنى المخابرات الجوية ومقر للشرطة في بلدة خان أرنبة
كما هاجم الثوار عدداً من الحواجز العسكرية في ريف اللاذقية وحمص والحسكة والرقة وحماة وأوقعوا عدداً من القتلى والجرحى في صفوف جيش النظام
أعلن المعارض السوري هيثم المالح أنه سيتم الإعلان عن حكومة انتقالية خلال مؤتمر أصدقاء سورية الذي سيعقد قريباً في المغرب، وستتخذ الحكومة الانتقالية من الشمال السوري المحرر مقراً لها
شهدت دمشق ثلاثة انفجارات ناجمة عن سيارات مفخخة، كان أحدها في منطقة الزاهرة الجديدة التي يقع فيها مقر الهلال الأحمر السوري وآخر في منطقة المزة 86 التي تعتبر أحد أكبر معاقل ضباط وميليشيا النظام في دمشق، والأخير في بلدة معضمية الشام في الريف حيث أدت إلى سقوط العديد من الجرحى وإحداث دمار كبير
واصلت قوات النظام حملاتها العسكرية على المناطق التي يسيطر عليها الثوار، حيث قصفت أكثر من 248 منطقة في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، بينها أكثر من 69 منقطة تعرضت لقصف بمدافع الهاون و47 منطقة قصفت براجمات الصواريخ و132 منطقة أخرى قصفت بالمدفعية الثقيلة، بينما قصفت الطائرات الحربية عشر مناطق كان أكثرها في ريف دمشق، منطقتين تعرضتا للقصف بالقنابل العنقودية وأربعة مناطق أخرى قصفت بالبراميل المتفجرة في حين قصفت مروحيات النظام بلدات الموحسن والموعمر في ريف دير الزور بالقذائف الفوسفورية مما أدى إلى سقوط عشرات الشهداء والجرحى فضلاً عن تهدم عشرات المباني السكنية
وصلت حصيلة شهداء اليوم إلى 83، بينهم سبع نساء وخمس أطفال و43 مقاتلاً من كتائب الثوار
ففي دمشق وريفها سقط ما لا يقل عن 42 شهيداً بينهم 21 مقاتلاً من الثوار سقطوا خللا الاشتباكات التي دارت في عربين وسقبا ودوما وحرستا ومديرا وبيت سحم وعقربا، كما عثر على خمسة جثث محروقة لم يتم التعرف عليها على طريق درعا-دمشق في حي القدم، كما قتلت قوات النظام 21 مواطناً في حلب وريفها بينهم خمسة على الأقل سقطوا برصاص قناصة جيش النظام المنتشرة في أحياء مختلف من المدينة
